Is Crypto.com available in Finland?

Yes. Crypto.com serves EU customers through Foris DAX MT Limited, which received a full MiCA licence from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) in January 2025 and passported it across the EU, including Finland, in February 2025.

App or Exchange – which should you use?

Crypto.com is in practice split into two products: the consumer App (a mobile app that also includes the Visa card and savings products) and the Exchange for more experienced users, with order-book trading and a more detailed price list.

The basic fee follows the same maker/taker price list in both, but card top-ups and instant purchases in the App should be clearly separated from trading on the Exchange, because they have their own, higher costs.

App instant purchase or Exchange: why the price differs

In the Crypto.com app's instant purchase, the price includes a spread that is not shown as a separate fee. The Exchange view charges a separate trading fee that is usually clearly lower. You can find the real cost by comparing the price you paid with the market price at the same moment. For large amounts, the Exchange view is usually cheaper.

How to open a Crypto.com account in Finland

Registration is international (identification with a passport or ID card) and does not require Finnish bank ID:

  1. Create an account with your email in the Crypto.com app and confirm the email address.
  2. Verify your identity by uploading an identity document and taking a selfie. The automated check often confirms your identity in the same session.
  3. Answer background questions about the source of your funds and your investment experience.
  4. Make a SEPA deposit to your euro balance. A SEPA transfer typically arrives within a banking day.
  5. Switch to the Exchange view and make your first purchase with more transparent pricing than the App's instant purchase.

Crypto.com fees in Finland

Crypto.com's Exchange price list is tiered by 30-day trading volume, and holding the CRO token can bring additional discounts:

Exchange, taker (lowest tier)0.50%Falls with volume and CRO balance

Crypto.com Visa card inactivity fee€5–6 / monthCharged only after 12 months of inactivity

Note: the CRO discount model changed during 2026 from lock-up periods to a CRO balance, and the price list can be updated without separate notice. Always check the current price list on Crypto.com's own help page before trading.

The App purchase spread is not published as a fixed percentage, so those figures are estimates; the exact fee is shown in the order preview. Source: Crypto.com's fees and limits page.

Crypto.com in brief

Crypto.com differs from Coinbase in that its ecosystem reaches well beyond crypto trading: the Visa card, savings products and its own CRO token are woven into the same app.

Basic trading on the Exchange is competitively priced, but the App's instant purchase blurs the real cost in the same way as Coinbase's Simple app. The selection is one of the widest among the international players we compare, with over 350 cryptocurrencies.

Security and custody

Crypto.com says it keeps customer funds mainly in cold storage and regularly publishes proof-of-reserves attestations.

In January 2022 the company suffered a security breach in which about $34 million was stolen from around 480 user accounts after two-factor authentication was bypassed. Crypto.com reimbursed the lost funds in full from its own balance sheet and then tightened its 2FA and monitoring practices.

We cannot verify the cold storage share ourselves; this information is based on Crypto.com's own statement.

Is Crypto.com safe and reliable?

  • MiCA licence: Foris DAX MT Limited received a full MiCA licence from Malta's MFSA in January 2025 and passported it across the EU in February 2025.
  • Track record: founded in 2016 and operating internationally for years, including the 2022 breach mentioned above, which was fully reimbursed to users.
  • Transparency: public proof-of-reserves reporting gives outsiders some way to follow reserve coverage, although we could not audit it ourselves.

Regulation does not remove market risk. See also our guide to crypto scams in Finland.

Who is Crypto.com best for?

Crypto.com suits users who want to combine trading, a crypto payment card and savings products in one app, and who are willing to use the Exchange view to keep costs reasonable. As an English-language service that verifies identity with an ID document, it is also easy to use for internationals living in Finland.

If you only want a simple, one-off purchase and the rest of the "ecosystem" doesn't matter to you, a Finnish exchange or Coinbase may be a more straightforward choice.

How to buy crypto on Crypto.com

  1. Log in and check your euro balance.
  2. Switch to the Exchange view and choose a cryptocurrency from the wide selection.

  4. Confirm the order. A market order is usually executed within a few seconds.
  5. The purchase appears in your portfolio immediately and can be moved to your own wallet.

How to sell and withdraw from Crypto.com

  1. Open your portfolio and select the cryptocurrency you want to sell.
  2. Enter the amount in the Exchange view, with the same maker/taker pricing as when buying.
  3. Confirm the sale; the euros stay in your Crypto.com balance.
  4. Request a withdrawal to your bank account. A normal SEPA transfer usually arrives within 1–2 banking days.

Crypto.com user experiences 2026

We went through public user feedback, including Trustpilot reviews. Recurring themes:

  • Positive: the broad ecosystem (card, savings, trading) and proof-of-reserves reporting are often mentioned as building trust.
